As of July 2017, the Chickasaw Housing Authority (CHA) is currently accepting Public Housing waiting list pre-applications for families and senior/disabled households.
To apply:
Once the pre-application has been completed, it must be hand delivered to the address listed above, from 8:00 am until 11:00 am and 1:00 pm until 4:00 pm, on Wednesdays only. Pre-applications are not accepted on Wednesdays that fall on the last day of the month.
Be sure to include these documents with the pre-application: Social Security Cards and birth certificates for all household members, photo IDs for all adult household members, final divorce decree/legal separation papers (if applicable), landlord's name and address for the past 5 years, employer's name and address, most recent Social Security/SSI award letter (if applicable), unemployment letter (if applicable), veterans benefit letter (if applicable), TANF award letter (if applicable).
The CHA does have a preference point system that may improve the applicant's spot on the waiting list: Minimum income of $8,000 with at least six months of job history, working family with at least six months of job history, Chickasaw resident, elderly family, or near elderly over a single person.
