The Regional Housing Authority of Sutter and Nevada Counties (RHASNC) is currently accepting Section 8 Project-Based Voucher waiting list applications for families and senior households.

IMPORTANT NOTE: This is NOT the Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher program. The Section 8 Project-Based Voucher program operates similarly to Public Housing, in which tenants must live in a specific unit to receive housing assistance. For HCV information, please scroll down below the PBV section.

To apply to Maple Park, download and print the application online. The application is available in English and Spanish.

Once the application has been completed, it can be mailed or hand delivered to the RHASNC office, located at 1455 Butte House Road, Yuba City, CA 95993.

Important note: Applicants who have been placed on the waiting list must inform the housing authority immediately if your application information changes (such as contact information, income, and household members). In the case that the office sends a notice that does not get returned, or if application information is out of date, your name may be terminated from the waiting list. Contact the housing authority to find out how to update application information.

Public Housing Waiting List Status : Open

Affordable Housing Online is tracking the status of the Regional Housing Authority of Sutter and Nevada Counties Public Housing Waiting Lists. This is what we know as of our most recent update May 22nd, 2015.

The Regional Housing Authority of Sutter and Nevada Counties is currently accepting public housing waiting list applications for families and elderly/disabled individuals.


This housing authority has three public housing communities:

1. Date Street Senior Village is a 50 unit community with emergency pull switches in every unit.
2. Richland Public Housing is a 99 unit community located in Yuba City.
3. River City Manor is a 24 unit community dedicated to senior/disabled individuals, located in Yuba City.

To apply for public housing you can visit the housing authority office to pick up an application, located at: 1455 Butte House Rd., Yuba City, CA 95993, during normal office hours, or you can have an application mailed to you by calling 
530-671-0220, during normal office hours.

Once you have completed the application it can be mailed or hand delivered to the housing authority at the above address.
Be sure to include with your application: copies of birth certificates, social security cards, proof of income, and photo IDs for all adult household members.

This housing authority does go by a preference point system that may improve your spot on the waiting list: disabled, homeless, elderly, work/live in the area, victim of domestic violence, displaced by government action, veteran, and near elderly.

Assisted Unit Distribution What is Housing Assistance?

The Regional Housing Authority of Sutter and Nevada Counties administers both a public housing and Section 8 housing voucher program. The housing authority owns and manages 3 projects which contain 179 affordable rental units. It also administers 1,160 Section 8 housing vouchers.

This score is a reflection of how well the housing authority manages the Section 8 waiting list, the physical quality of housing assisted with Section 8 and the financial management of the program.

From 2001 to 2009, Regional Housing Authority of Sutter and Nevada Counties scored an average of 82 points as of the last set of publicly available data. Housing Authority Annual and 5 Year Plans

Public housing agencies, also called public housing authorities, which receive funding from HUD, are required to submit and receive approval from the US Department of Housing and Urban Development of both an Annual Plan and a 5 Year Plan. These plans establish each housing authority’s policies, strategies, programs and operations for meeting the housing needs of persons within their target area.

The housing authority plans include specific details about the cost of renovations to real estate (also known as capital improvements), changes to Section 8 HCV policies, planned redevelopment of public housing projects and other major administrative changes.
