The Meriden Housing Authority (MHA) Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher waiting list is currently closed. Applications were last accepted from March 17, 2021 until March 31, 2021. There is no notice of when this waiting list will reopen.

There were three ways to apply during the opening period:

  1. Complete the online application.
  2. Print the online paper application.
  3. Pick up an application from the MHA.

Once the application was completed, it was either:

  1. Dropped off at the MHA.
  2. Postmarked and mailed to the MHA.

The maximum income limits for each household size were as follows:

  • 1 Person $35,950 | 5 Persons $55,450
  • 2 Persons $41,050 | 6 Persons $59,550
  • 3 Persons $46,200
  • 4 Persons $51,300

This waiting list had the following preferences:

  • Families that have been terminated from the HCV program due to insufficient program funding
  • Victims of natural disaster
  • Victims of fires, whos residence is permanently inhabitable
  • Families displaced by Board approved sanctioned activity (e.g. acquisition/demolition/rehabilitation of residence)

2,000 applicants were placed on the waiting list by random lottery, weighed by order of preferences.
