Section 8 Waiting List Status: Open Indefinitely

The Ogle County Housing Authority (OCHA) Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher waiting list is currently open. The waiting list is open in indefinitely.


To apply, visit the OCHA office to complete a pre-application, located at 200 Washington Street, Suite 100, Oregon, IL 61061, from 8:00 am until 3:30 pm CT, Monday through Friday.

The following documentation is required when submitting the pre-application: Birth Certificates and Social Security Cards for all members of the household, photo ID for all adult (18+) members of the household, proof of income (if applicable), public aid verification (if applicable), proof of child support (if applicable), letter from school financial assistance grant (if applicable), value of all bank accounts (if applicable), latest property tax bill (if applicable), proof of custody of all family members younger than 18 years old (if applicable), proof of military service and discharge papers (if applicable), criminal history printout (if applicable), proof of medical expenses (if 62+ or disabled).

Applicants will receive a confirmation number upon submitting the pre-application. It is important to keep that number in a safe, easy to access place. It will be needed any time when referencing your pre-application with the housing authority.

Public Housing Waiting List Status : Open

Affordable Housing Online is tracking the status of the Ogle County Housing Authority Public Housing Waiting Lists. This is what we know as of our most recent update May 22nd, 2015.

The Ogle County Housing Authority is now accepting waiting list applications for public housing from people with families or anyone over the age of 62 and/or disabled.   
 
The Housing Authority lists had no listing of  preferences.

To  fill out an application please go to the Housing Authority Office located at:  200 Washington Street, Suite 100, Oregon, IL between the hours of 8:30-3:30 Monday-Friday.

Assisted Unit Distribution What is Housing Assistance?

The Ogle County Housing Authority administers both a public housing and Section 8 housing voucher program. The housing authority owns and manages 2 projects which contain 130 affordable rental units. It also administers 141 Section 8 housing vouchers.

This score is a reflection of how well the housing authority manages the Section 8 waiting list, the physical quality of housing assisted with Section 8 and the financial management of the program.

Housing Authority Annual and 5 Year Plans

Public housing agencies, also called public housing authorities, which receive funding from HUD, are required to submit and receive approval from the US Department of Housing and Urban Development of both an Annual Plan and a 5 Year Plan. These plans establish each housing authority’s policies, strategies, programs and operations for meeting the housing needs of persons within their target area.

The housing authority plans include specific details about the cost of renovations to real estate (also known as capital improvements), changes to Section 8 HCV policies, planned redevelopment of public housing projects and other major administrative changes.
