The Fort Wayne Housing Authority (FWHA) is currently accepting public housing waiting list applications for families and senior/disabled individuals.

The FWHA offers seven communities with 750 units for families and senior/disabled individuals.

There are two ways to apply for public housing:
1. Visit the FWHA office to pick up an application, located at 7315 Hanna St., Fort Wayne, IN 46816, Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays between the hours of 8am and 5pm.
2. Download an application here, then print and complete.

Once the application has been completed, it can be mailed to the address listed above. No documents are needed at this time.

The FWHA does have a preference point system that may improve your spot on the waiting list: live and/or work in Fort Wayne, veteran, disabled, elderly, victim of domestic violence, displaced by government action, displaced by a natural disaster, homeless, elevated blood lead level, pre and post-occupancy program, graduate of a transitional housing program.

The Fort Wayne Housing Authority administers both a public housing and Section 8 housing voucher program. The housing authority owns and manages 7 projects which contain 743 affordable rental units. It also administers 2,980 Section 8 housing vouchers.
