  • Monroe County Resident (4 points)
  • Resident of Surrounding County: Owen, Brown, Greene, Lawrence, Morgan (3 points)
  • Head of Household and Spouse, or Sole Member, is Either Elderly or Disabled (2 points)
  • Any Member of Household is Disabled (1 point)
  • Current Victim of Domestic Violence (2 points)
  • Current Member or Veteran of U.S. Military, or Surviving Spouse of a Veteran (1 point)
  • Working 35 Hours or More Per Week (2 points)
  • Working 20 to 34 Hours Per Week (1 Point)

Selected applicants were placed on the waiting list by date and time the application was received, weighed by order of preferences.

The Bloomington Housing Authority (BHA) Public Housing waiting list for 2 and 3-Bedroom apartments is closed.

The BHA last accepted applications for this waiting list from June 30, 2020, until October 15, 2021. There is no notice of when this waiting list will reopen.

To apply during the opening period, applicants were required to complete an online application.

This waiting list had the following preferences:

  • Live in Monroe County, Indiana
  • Live in the surrounding counties of Owen, Greene, Lawrence, Brown or Morgan
  • Current member of the U.S. Military Armed Forces, a veteran of the U.S. Military Armed Forces or a surviving spouse of a veteran
  • Household include a disabled individual
  • Work 35 hours or more per week or the head and spouse, or sole member, are elderly (62 years of age or older) or disabled
  • Work 20-34 hours per week
  • Resident of Monroe or a surrounding county whose primary nighttime dwelling is one of the following: a supervised public or private shelter designed to provide temporary living accommodations (includes welfare hotels, congregate shelters and transitional housing) or a public or private place not designed for, or ordinarily used as, a regular sleeping place for human beings

Open Until Further Notice: Reverend ED Butler, Walnut Woods Apartments and Crestmont RAD Section 8 Project-Based Voucher Waiting List

The Bloomington Housing Authority (BHA) is accepting RAD I Project Based Voucher waiting list applications for 1, 2 and 3-bedroom apartments at Reverend ED Butler, Walnut Woods and Crestmont Apartments from October 5, 2023, until further notice.

This waiting list is for the following properties:

  • Reverend ED Butler Apartments (formerly public housing) is located on Bloomington’s west side in the 1200 & 1300 block of 11th and 12th St.
  • Walnut Woods (formerly public housing) is located on Bloomington’s south side in the 800 block of E. Miller Dr. & 1700 block of South Park Ave.
  • Crestmont Community Apartments (formerly public housing) is located at 1007 W. N Summit St.

To apply while the waitlist is open, complete the online application that will be available here.

Preferences have not yet been confirmed.
