This waiting list is for Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher rental housing assistance in Terrebonne Parish, Louisiana.

The Terrebonne Parish Consolidated Government last accepted Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher waiting list applications for one day on January 24, 2024. This waiting list was last open in June, 2023. There is no notice of when this waiting list will reopen.

To apply while the waiting list was open, applicants were required to complete an application in person at the Dumas Auditorium.

The maximum income limits for each household size were as follows:

  • 1 Person $25,750 | 5 Persons $39,700
  • 2 Persons $29,400 | 6 Persons $42,650
  • 3 Persons $33,100 | 7 Person $45,600
  • 4 Persons $36,750 | 8 Persons $48,550

This waiting list had the following preferences: 

  • Working: Head, spouse, or sole member of household. Document with check stubs for the past three months.
  • Disabled: Head of household or any household member. Document with Social Security award letter or statement from physician.
  • Local Residency: Head of household. Document with current State of LA photo ID stating current physical address. A P.O. box is not sufficient for the local preference.
  • Honorably Discharged Veteran: Head of household. Document with discharge papers. 
  • Displaced Public Housing Resident: Head of household. Families previously occupying public housing and were involuntarily displaced as a result of Hurricane Ida. Document with verification from previous public housing agency. 

Selected applicants were placed on the waiting list by date and time the application was received, by order of preferences.
