Section 8 Waiting List Status: Open Indefinitely

Affordable Housing Online is tracking the status of the Pembroke Housing Authority Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher Waiting List. This is what we know as of our most recent update on June 3rd, 2016.

Please note: The Massachusetts Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher Centralized Waiting List manages a single waiting list for 93 housing authorities in Massachusetts. A list of all participating housing authorities can be found here.

The Massachusetts Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher Centralized Waiting List (MS8HCVCWL) is currently open. This waiting list opened in January 2003, and is open indefinitely.

There are three ways to apply:
  1. Complete the online pre-application here
  2. Download and print the pre-application online. The pre-application is available in seven different languages: EnglishChineseHaitian CreolePortugueseRussianSpanishVietnamese.
  3. Contact the participating housing authority in your area of interest to request a pre-application be mailed to you. Participating housing authority contact information can be found here.
Disabled applicants who require reasonable accommodation to complete the pre-application can call any participating housing authority. Participating housing authority contact information has been provided above.

Once the paper pre-application has been completed, it can be mailed or hand delivered to any participating housing authority. Participating housing authority address information can be found here.

The following preferences have been identified: Activated military personnel to Persian Gulf, Board of Health condemnation, disabled, displaced by hate crime or reprisal, displaced by landlord non-renewal, displaced by natural disaster, displaced by public action, domestic violence, elderly (62+), near elderly (55+), extremely low income, health conditions disability affecting housing ned, homeless, participant in Metro Program in Wayland school, rent burdened, single person, substandard housing, tenants of Project-Based untits, clients for Project-Based units, veteran, working. Please note: Once the application has been submitted, it will be included on the centralized waiting list, and will be under consideration for every participating housing authority. Because of this, there is no need to apply to multiple participating housing authorities, and only one application will be accepted.

Important note: Applicants who have been placed on the waiting list must inform the housing authority immediately if your application information changes (such as contact information, income, and household members). In the case that the office sends a notice that does not get returned, or if application information is out of date, your name may be terminated from the waiting list. Contact the housing authority to find out how to update application information.

Public Housing Waiting List Status : Open

Affordable Housing Online is tracking the status of the Pembroke Housing Authority Public Housing Waiting Lists. This is what we know as of our most recent update June 19th, 2015.

The Pembroke Housing Authority is currently accepting public housing waiting list applications for families and senior/disabled individuals.

Please note: Only the three bedroom unit waiting list is open for families.

The PHA offers one public housing community with 49 units for families and senior/disabled individuals.

There are two ways to apply:
1. Request that an application be mailed to you by calling 781-293-3088 during normal office hours.
2. Visit the PHA to pick up an application, located at Kilcommons Dr., Pembroke, Plymouth County, MA, during normal office hours.

Once the application has been completed, it can be mailed or hand delivered to the address listed above. No documents are needed at this time.

Assisted Unit Distribution What is Housing Assistance?

The Pembroke Housing Authority administers both a public housing and Section 8 housing voucher program. The housing authority owns and manages 1 projects which contain 49 affordable rental units. It also administers 83 Section 8 housing vouchers.

This score is a reflection of how well the housing authority manages the Section 8 waiting list, the physical quality of housing assisted with Section 8 and the financial management of the program.

From 2001 to 2009, Pembroke Housing Authority scored an average of 95 points as of the last set of publicly available data. The housing authority had a high score of 100 in 2002 and a low score of 85 in 2007. The average SEMAP Score for Housing Authorities in Massachusetts is 76.35.

Housing Authority Annual and 5 Year Plans

Public housing agencies, also called public housing authorities, which receive funding from HUD, are required to submit and receive approval from the US Department of Housing and Urban Development of both an Annual Plan and a 5 Year Plan. These plans establish each housing authority’s policies, strategies, programs and operations for meeting the housing needs of persons within their target area.

The housing authority plans include specific details about the cost of renovations to real estate (also known as capital improvements), changes to Section 8 HCV policies, planned redevelopment of public housing projects and other major administrative changes.
