The Saranac Housing Commission (SHC) is currently accepting Public Housing waiting list pre-applications for families and senior/disabled individuals.The SHC offers one Public Housing community with 89 units for families and senior/disabled individuals.There are two ways to apply:1. Visit the SHC to pick up a pre-application, located at 203 Parsonage Street, Saranac, Michigan 48881, from 10:30 am until 4:00 pm, Monday-Friday.2. Download a pre-application here, then print and complete.Once the pre-application has been completed, you must call the SHC to schedule a pre-application interview at 616-642-9832 from 10:30 am until 4:00 pm, Monday-Friday.Be sure to include these documents with the pre-application: Birth certificates, Social Security Cards, photo IDs for all adult household members, address history for the past five years, three personal references, proof of all income, proof of assets, proof expenses/deductions.The SHC does have a preference for: Full time students, or disabled individuals.More information can be found by visiting the SHC website, or by calling 616-642-9832 from 10:30 am until 4:00 pm, Monday-Friday.
