The Douglas County Housing and Redevelopment Authority (DCHRA) Section 8 Housing Choice Waiting list is currently open. Applications were last accepted from March 18, 2019, until October 15, 2019. There is no notice of when this waiting list will reopen.

There were two ways to apply during the opening period:

  1. Pick up an application at the DCHRA office.
  2. Call to request an application by mail.

Once the application was completed, it must have been dropped off at the DCHRA office.

This waiting list had the following preferences: Live or work in Douglas or Pope county, Minnesota.

Selected applicants were placed on the waiting list by date and time the application was received, by order of preference.

Open Until Further Notice:  2-4 Bedroom Public Housing Waiting List

The Douglas County Housing and Redevelopment Authority (DCHRA) Public Housing waiting list for 2-4 Bedroom units, is currently open, since at least May, 2016, until further notice.

There are two ways to apply:

  1. Pick up an application at the DCHRA office, located at 1224 North Nokomis, Alexandria, Minnesota 56308, Monday through Thursday from 9:00 am to 12:00 noon and 12:30 pm to 4:30 pm, and Friday from 9:00 am to 12:00 noon and 12:30 pm to 4:00 pm CT.
  2. Call (320) 762-3849 to request an application by mail.

Once the application has been completed, it must be either:

  1. Dropped off at the DCHRA office located at the above address during office hours.
  2. Mailed to the DCHRA office at the above address.

This waiting list has the following preference: Live or work in Douglas or Pope county, Minnesota.

Selected applicants will be placed on the waiting list by date and time the application is received, by order of preference.
