  • Homeless Preference (5 pts): The PHA offers a preference to families who are certified as homeless (PHA’s definition of homeless) and referred by PHA approved entities.
  • Working Family Preference (includes families where head AND spouse/cohead are elderly or disabled) (4 pts):
  • Veterans Preference (4 pts): The PHA offers a preference to applicants who served in the active military, naval, or air service of the United States who received other than a dishonorable discharge.
  • Disabled Preference (4 pts): The PHA offers a preference to any family that includes a person with disabilities.

The Bernalillo County Housing Department (BCHD) is accepting Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher waiting list applications for San Miguel County from August 18, 2022 at 12:00 am MT, until further notice.

To apply while the waitlist is open, complete the online application.

The waiting list has the following preferences:

  • Federal Disaster Preference (7 pts): The PHA offers a preference to families displaced as a result of a federal declared disaster.

  • Disabled Preference (4 pts): The PHA offers a preference to any family that includes a person with disabilities.
