Lehigh Park I Apartments is located at 2600-2620 North Lawrence Street and Lehigh Park II is located at 2622-2644 North Lawrence Street. These two mid-rise buildings served as home to St. Christopher’s Children’s Hospital until its relocation in 1989 to a more modern facility at Front Street and Erie Avenue. After the hospital’s relocation, these buildings were purchased and converted into multifamily dwellings for low-income families by the Canus Corporation with support from the Pennsylvania Housing Finance Agency’s Low-Income Housing Tax Credit Program (LIHTC). HACE purchased these buildings on December 31, 2001 in keeping with the organization’s mission of preserving affordable rental housing for residents of HACE’s service area and to support the continued revitalization of the Fairhill Neighborhood.
