As of the reporting of that news, those areas represented about 80% of the nation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This action means that the 3.5 million renters in the U.S. who are facing eviction, according to the Census Bureau, may get evicted if they are behind on rent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;The Biden Administration is disappointed that the Supreme Court has blocked the most recent CDC eviction moratorium while confirmed cases of the Delta variant are significant across the country,&#8221; said White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki <a title=\"Link to White House press release in response to Supreme Court ruling\" href=\"https:\/\/www.whitehouse.gov\/briefing-room\/statements-releases\/2021\/08\/26\/statement-by-press-secretary-jen-psaki-on-eviction-moratorium-3\/\">in a press release<\/a> yesterday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Supreme Court&#8217;s ruling puts numerous low-income renters at risk, but there are many areas in the country that still have eviction bans in effect to protect renters on the local level.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Psaki later stated, &#8220;President Biden is once again calling on all entities that can prevent evictions \u2013 from cities and states to local courts, landlords, Cabinet Agencies \u2013 to urgently act to prevent evictions.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>More updates about this news will be provided soon.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Update: Read more detailed information about the Supreme Court ruling here.
