This number is 26.9% below April, 2021\u2019s estimate of 809,000 homes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>New Residential Sales for April, 2022:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-table\"><table><tbody><tr><td>New Houses Sold<\/td><td>591,000<\/td><\/tr><tr><td>New Houses for Sale<\/td><td>444,000<\/td><\/tr><tr><td>Median Sales Price<\/td><td>$450,600<\/td><\/tr><\/tbody><\/table><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><a title=\"HUD AND CENSUS BUREAU REPORT NEW RESIDENTIAL SALES IN APRIL 2022 - HUD.gov\" href=\"https:\/\/www.hud.gov\/press\/press_releases_media_advisories\/HUD_No_22_099\">More information about new residential sales in April, 2022 can be found here.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">FHA announces new Green Mortgage Insurance Premium<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Date Posted: May 18, 2022<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The FHA announced last week that it will significantly reduce mortgage insurance premiums for residential care facilities that use green practices.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The <a title=\"Changes in Certain Office of Healthcare Programs Insurance Premiums - Federal Register\" href=\"https:\/\/www.federalregister.gov\/public-inspection\/2022-10539\/changes-in-certain-office-of-healthcare-programs-insurance-premiums\">Section 232 Green Mortgage Insurance Premium<\/a> is \u201cfor residential care facilities where the facilities meet industry-recognized green building certifications and achieve meaningful, measurable energy and water efficiency improvements,\u201d according to the HUD press release.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>HUD Deputy Secretary Adrianne Todman said:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote\"><p>\u201cPart of HUD\u2019s mission is creating and supporting resilient communities. Her leadership will be invaluable as we work to expand access to safe, affordable, and sustainable housing.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p><a title=\"Julia Gordon Sworn in as Assistant Secretary for Housing and the Federal Housing Commissioner - HUD.gov\" href=\"https:\/\/www.hud.gov\/press\/press_releases_media_advisories\/HUD_No_22_101\">More information about HUD\u2019s new Assistant Secretary for Housing and the FHA Commissioner can be found here.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Loan guarantee announced for CA energy efficiency upgrades<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Date Posted: May 23, 2022<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A $500,000 loan guarantee has been announced by HUD for energy efficiency upgrades in the City of Downey, California.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to the HUD release, the loan guarantee will help install upgrades including \u201csolar photovoltaic (PV) panels, carport canopies, and battery energy storage systems (BESS) at city-owned buildings and facilities.\u201d&nbsp; It is offered through the Section 108 Loan Guarantee Program.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Jemine A. Bryon, Acting General Deputy Assistant Secretary, Office of Community Planning and Development at HUD, said:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote\"><p>\u201cSustainability is a critical
