Fudge.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to HUD\u2019s press release, \u201c<em>Our Way Home<\/em> is a national initiative that uplifts the unique housing supply successes in local communities and connects cities, counties, Tribal communities, states, and U.S. Territories to the tools and resources needed to help preserve and produce affordable housing in their area.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Secretary Fudge said about this initiative:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote\"><p>\u201cFor too long and in too many communities, housing supply has not kept up with the growing demand. It\u2019s going to take government working at all levels to help close the housing supply gap. Fudge said about National Homeownership Month:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote\"><p>\u201cHomeownership is a key source of wealth building and is often the foundation for one\u2019s life. Unfortunately, the lack of affordable housing supply has placed homeownership out of reach for many people with low and moderate incomes, first-time homebuyers, and communities that have been historically and systemically locked out of homeownership. Fudge said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a title=\"HUD Announces $147 Million to Tribal Communities for Affordable Housing and Community Development - HUD.gov\" href=\"https:\/\/www.hud.gov\/press\/press_releases_media_advisories\/HUD_No_22_102\">More information about these awards for American Indian and Alaska Native communities can be found here.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Agreement announced resolving discrimination allegations<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Date Posted: June 2, 2022<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>An agreement resolving allegations of discriminatory lending practices was announced yesterday by HUD.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The agreement between the National Community Reinvestment Coalition (NCRC) and Movement Mortgage LLC concerned discriminatory practices \u201cbased on race and national origin, in violation of the Fair Housing Act,\u201d according to HUD\u2019s press release.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>HUD\u2019s Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary for Fair Housing and Equal Opportunity Demetria L. McCain said about the agreement:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThis agreement reflects HUD\u2019s commitment to ensuring that everyone has equal access to credit regardless of their race or national origin\u2026It is imperative that lenders comply with fair housing laws.
