Open Until Further Notice: Yuma County, Arizona Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher Waiting List

The Yuma County Housing Department (YCHD) Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher waiting list is currently open. Applications are being accepted since at least February, 2021, until further notice.

To apply during the opening period, print the paper application and supplemental form available online here. The application is available in English and Spanish.

The maximum income limits for each household size are available here.

This waiting list has the following preferences: 

  • Residency Preference: 
    • For families who live, work, or have been hired to work in YCHD’s operational jurisdiction; Yuma County outside Yuma City Limits. Proof in the form of the letter extending the offer of employment will be required. As required byHUD, families where the head and spouse, or sole member is a person age 62 or older, oris a person with disabilities, will also be given the benefit of the working preference.

Selected applicants will be placed on the waiting list by date and time the application is received, weighed by order of preferences.

The Yuma County Housing Department (YCHD) Public Housing waiting list for 2, 3 and 4-Bedroom apartments is currently open. Applications are being accepted since at least February, 2021, until further notice.

Once the application has been completed, it must be dropped off at the Yuma County Housing Department main office, located at Valley Vista Apartments, 2050 W. Main Street, Somerton, AZ 85350. Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm MT.

Preferences have not yet been confirmed.

It is not known how applicants will be placed on the waiting list.
