There were two ways to apply during the opening period:

  1. Complete the online application.
  2. Print the paper application.

There are no preferences.

1,500 applicants were placed on the waiting list by random lottery.

The Housing Authority of the City of Hartford (HACH) Public Housing waiting list for 2, 3 and 4-Bedroom apartments is closed.

The HACH last accepted applications for this waiting list from October 25, 2022, until October 31, 2022. There is no notice of when this waiting list will reopen.

There were three ways to apply during the opening period:

  1. Complete the online application.
  2. Print the paper application.
  3. Pick up an application from the HACH office.

Once the application was completed, it was either:

  1. Postmarked between October 25, 2022 and October 31, 2022; and mailed to the Admissions & Occupancy Department, Housing Authority of the City of Hartford.

  2. Dropped off at the Housing Authority’s drop box at the main office.

The maximum income limit for each household size were available on the application.

Preferences have not yet been confirmed.

2,500 applicants were placed on the waiting list by random lottery.

Open Until Further Notice: Studio and 1-Bedroom, Near Elderly Public Housing Waiting List

The Housing Authority of the City of Hartford (HACH) is accepting Near Elderly Public Housing waiting list for Studio and 1-Bedroom apartments from the earliest confirmed date of March 15, 2023 until further notice.

Please note: According to the HACH public notice, applicants must be 55 years of age and over.

There are three ways to apply during the opening period: 

  1. Complete the online application in English or Español.
  2. Print the paper application.
  3. Pick up an application from the HACH office, located at 180 John D. Wardlaw Way, Hartford, CT 06106. The Housing Authority is open to those that have an appointment only.

Once the application has been completed, it must be either:

  1. Mailed to the Admissions & Occupancy Department Housing Authority of the City of Hartford 180 John D. Wardlaw Way, Hartford, CT 06106.
  2. Hand delivered to the HACH, address mentioned above.

Preferences have not yet been confirmed.

It is not known how applicants will be placed on the waiting list.

The HACH is accepting applications for this waiting list from November 2, 2021 at 9:00 am ET, until further notice.

Please note: According to the HACH public notice, "To qualify, you must be an elderly individual or family (62+) that is seeking a studio or one-bedroom apartment owned by the Housing Authority."
