The Panama City Housing Authority is currently accepting public housing waiting list applications for families and senior disabled individuals.

This housing authority offers six apartment communities for families and senior/disabled individuals.

There are two ways to apply for public housing:
1. Request an application be mailed to you by calling 850-769-2358, during normal office hours, Monday-Friday.
2. Visit the housing authority to pick up an application, located at 804 E. 15th St., Panama City, FL , during normal office hours.

Once the application has been completed it can be mailed or hand delivered to the address listed above. Be sure to include a copy of a photo ID for all adult household members.

This housing authority does not have a preference, your application is placed by date and time received.

Panama City Housing Authority Housing Choice Voucher Waiting List: Closed

The Panama City Housing Authority (PCHA) Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher waiting list is currently closed. It was last opened for nearly two weeks in October 2015, and prior to that in November 2014. There is no notice of when this waiting list will reopen.

To apply, applicants were required to visit the PCHA office to submit a pre-application.

No preferences were identified.

The PCHA placed an unspecified number of applicants on the waiting list by random lottery.

According to the 2016 Q4 Picture of Subsidized Households database, the housing authority's voucher program has an annual turnover of 13% having issued approximately 34 vouchers in the past year. The average voucher holder has received housing benefits for 7 years and 1 months. According to the 2016 PSH database, persons who were issued a voucher in the preceding 12 months waited an average of 7 months on the waiting list1.

4% of households were headed by a person 24 years old or less, 53% were headed by a person 25 to 49 years old, 23% were headed by a person 51 to 60 years old, and 20% were headed by a person 62 years old or older. In addition, 1% of households were headed by a person 85 years old or older.

61% of all voucher households were headed by minorities with 57% of all heads of households being Black and -1% being Hispanic.
