The Des Moines Municipal Housing Agency (DMHA) is currently accepting Public Housing waiting list pre-applications for families and senior/disabled households.

The DMHA offers 8 Public Housing communities with 464 units for families and senior/disabled households, ranging in size from studio's to 4 bedrooms.

There are two ways to apply

  1. Visit one of the following locations during normal office hours to pick up a pre-application: Park Fair Mall, 100 E Euclid Avenue, Suite 101, Des Moines, Iowa 50313; or Royal View Manor, 1101 Crocker Street, Des Moines, Iowa 50309.
  2. Download a pre-application online here, then print and complete.
Once the pre-application has been completed, it can be mailed or hand delivered to the address listed above.

According to the 2016 Q4 Picture of Subsidized Households database, the housing authority's voucher program has an annual turnover of 13% having issued approximately 225 vouchers in the past year.
