There were three ways to apply during the opening period:

  1. Download and print the application online.
  2. Pick up an application at the RHDC office.
  3. Pick up an application at the Riverhead Free Library.

Once the application has been completed, it must have been either:

  1. Dropped off to the RHDC office.
  2. Postmarked by December 10, 2018 and mailed to the RHDC.

This waiting list had the following preferences: Live, Work, or Attend School in Riverhead; Extremely Low-Income Household (total family income is at or below 30% of median income for their family size); Elderly resident of Riverhead; Disabled resident of Riverhead.

Selected applications were placed on the waiting list by random lottery, by order of preferences.
