The Town of Islip Housing Authority (TIHA) Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher waiting list is currently closed. It was last open for one month from February 2017 until March 2017. There is no notice of when this waiting list will reopen.
There were three ways to apply during the opening period:
Once the application has been completed, it must have been mailed. Applications must have been postmarked between February 22, 2017 and March 24, 2017. Applications postmarked outside of these dates were not accepted.
Please note: Preferences have not yet been confirmed, and it is not known how applicants will be placed on the waiting list. However, the most recently available TIHA Admin Plan (dated 2015) states that applicants will be placed on the waiting list by date and time the application is received, by order of preferences, and there are preferences for those who live, work, have been hired to work, or attend school in Islip; veterans; and working families. We have left a message with the TIHA for confirmation, and will update this page when more information becomes available.
