The Youngstown Metropolitan Housing Authority (YMHA) Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher waiting list is currently closed. It was last open for 10 days in September 2017; and before that for 10 days in February 2016. There is no notice of when this waiting list will reopen.

To apply during the opening period, applicants were required to complete the online application. The application was available in English and Spanish, and was online only.

This waiting list had the following preferences: U.S. Veteran; families with a child under the age of 6 with lead poisoning; aging out of foster care; homeless; living in a shelter or transitional housing, Safe Haven, or a hotel/motel paid for by a charitable organization or government program; persons who were homeless or living in a shelter immediately before staying at a hospital, treatment facility, jail, or prison for 90 days or less; victims of domestic violence.

2,000 applicants were placed on the waiting list by random lottery, by order of preferences. A list of the winning numbers will be published on the Lottery Results page here after October 20, 2017.
