One day after Congress gave its final approval of the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021, it has been signed into law by President Joe Biden today.
“This historic legislation is about rebuilding the backbone of this country, and giving people in this nation — working people, middle-class folks, people who have built the country — a fighting chance,” said President Biden, before signing the bill on Thursday.
The coronavirus relief bill is giving funding for many supportive services aimed to directly help Americans, as well as state and local governments, during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The stimulus checks that will be given to most Americans will begin to be paid out this weekend, as confirmed by White House Press Secretary Jen Pasaki.
More information about important supportive services that are getting funding can be found here; and an in-depth summary of these services (including who they help) will be published soon.
