Built in 1999, Villa de Sueños was Hacienda's first new construction project. Villa de Sueños is also the first development to display Hacienda's trademark vibrant exteriors.

Programs all free and available for residents:

  • Vamos Kids- an after school program serves first- through fifth-grade students residing at this site. Vamos is designed to increase family involvement, attendance at school, school performance and reports of a positive school experience.
  • En Control- a gang prevention, alcohol and drugs program for teenagers and parents.
  • Plaza Comunitaria- Hacienda CDC has partnered with Mexico's National Institute for Adult Education (INEA) and the Institute for Mexicans Abroad (IME) through the Mexican Consulate's office in Portland to provide an adult education curriculum and support for Mexican and Latino youth and adults, 15 years old or older.
  • Portland Niños- aims to reduce preventable health disparities in Latino children.
  • Expresiones- an afterschool program for our middle school-age residents designed to increase family participation, school attendance and retention and reports of a positive experience in school
  • Resident Services- works directly with residents to create a better and stronger community

Dave's Thoughts On Villa De Suenos

Because Villa De Suenos participates in HUD's HOME program for rental housing and the LIHTC program, at least some of the units in this property are set aside for households earning 60% or less of the AMI and rents are capped at the local FMR and in many cases much lower. For a HOME project of this size, some of the units are set aside for households at or below 50% AMI with a corresponding lower rent cap. As this property appears not to have a project-based subsidy or any other Federal assistance, you likely will have to pay your own rent, albeit, at a lower rent amount thanks to the HOME and LIHTC programs. Since this property participates in the HOME and LIHTC programs, the property is required to accept Section 8 Housing Choice Vouchers.
