This week, we have added 3 new waiting lists to our open Section 8 waiting lists page. With 1 waiting list closing since last week, we are now aware of 438 open Section 8 waiting lists, and 5 waiting lists that are opening soon. Here are the Section 8 waiting lists that are opening soon or now open since last week:
Chattanooga, Tennessee: The Chattanooga Housing Authority (CHA) Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher waiting list is opening soon for one day only, on October 19, 2015, from 12:01 am until 11:59 pm ET. Pre-applications will be available online only. No preferences have been identified. The CHA will place 1,000 applicants on the waiting list by random lottery. Cobb County, Georgia: The Marietta Housing Authority (MHA) Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher waiting list is opening soon, from October 20, 2015, until October, 22 2015. There is no opening or closing time identified on the public notice. We have contacted the office for clarification, and will post an update when more information becomes available. Pre-applications will be available online only. No preferences have been identified. The MHA will place an unspecified number of applicants on the waiting list by random lottery. Champaign County, Illinois: The Housing Authority of Champaign County (HACC) Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher waiting list is currently open on a limited basis, from September 24, 2015 until December 31, 2015. According to the HACC, “this waiting list is only open for persons who are involuntarily displaced from their permanent residence by a Federal, State or local governmental action in Champaign County, Illinois.” Pre-applications are available online, or at four locations throughout the Champaign, IL area. Seven preferences have been identified. The HACC will place an unspecified number of applicants on the waiting list by random lottery. For more information, please visit our HACC information page.
