This week, we have added 7 new waiting lists to our open Section 8 waiting lists page. We are now aware of 496 open Section 8 waiting lists, and 8 waiting lists that are opening soon. Here are the new scheduled waiting lists that are open now or opening soon:
Newport, Rhode Island: The Housing Authority of Newport (HAN) Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher waiting list is currently open, from April 16, 2016 at 9:00 am, until April 29, 2016 at 4:30 pm ET. Applications are available online. Two preferences have been identified. Applicants will be placed on the waiting list by date and time of application submission, after sorting preferences. Multi-County, Michigan: The Michigan State Housing Development Authority (MSHDA): Alcona and Schoolcraft County Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher waiting lists are closing soon, on May 9, 2016 at 5:00 pm ET. Applications are available online. Two preferences have been identified. It is not known how applicants will be placed on the waiting list. Citrus County, Florida: The Citrus County Housing Services (CCHS) Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher waiting list is opening soon, from May 2, 2016 at 9:00 am, until May 6, 2016 at 5:00 pm ET. Applications will be available online. Four preferences have been identified. Applicants will be placed on the waiting list by random lottery, after sorting preferences. Multi-County, Michigan: The Michigan State Housing Development Authority (MSHDA): Delta, Marquette, and Menominee County Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher waiting lists are opening soon, from May 2, 2016 at 8:00 am, until May 27, 2016 at 5:00 pm ET. Applications will be available online. Two preferences have been identified. It is not known how applicants will be placed on the waiting list. Multi-County, Michigan: The Plymouth Housing Commission (PHC) Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher waiting list is opening soon, from April 28, 2016 at 12:01 am, until May 3, 2016 at 11:59 pm ET. The PHC covers select cities in the Counties of Wayne, Oakland, Washtenaw, and Macomb County, MI. Applications will be available online. Prince George’s County, Maryland: The Housing Authority of Prince George’s County (HAPGC) Section 8 Project-Based Voucher and Public Housing waiting lists are opening soon, from May 9, 2016 at 9:00 am, until May 13, 2016 at 11:59 pm ET. Applications will be available online. No preferences have been identified. Applicants will be placed on the waiting list by random lottery. Long Beach, California: The Housing Authority of the City of Long Beach (HACLB) will soon accept Section 8 Project-Based Voucher waiting list applications for senior, veteran, and disabled & homeless households, beginning on May 2, 2016. Applications will be available online. No preferences have been identified. It is not known how applicants will be placed on the waiting list. Richland County, South Carolina: The Columbia Housing Authority (CHA) will soon accept Section 8 Project-Based Voucher waiting list applications, from May 17, 2016 at 9:00 am ET, until May 31, 2016 at 5:00 pm ET. Applications will be available online. No preferences have been identified. Applicants will be placed on the waiting list by date and time of application submission.
