This week, we have added 9 new waiting lists to our open Section 8 waiting lists page. We are now aware of 495 open Section 8 waiting lists, and 13 waiting lists that are opening soon. Here are the new scheduled waiting lists that are currently open and opening soon:
Eagle, Moffat, Pitkin, and Rio Blanco County, Colorado
The Colorado Division of Housing (CDH) Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher waiting list for Eagle, Moffat, Pitkin, and Rio Blanco County is currently open, until September 1, 2016 at 8:00 am MT. Applications are available online. There are no preferences. Applicants will be placed on the waiting list by date and time the application is received. Please note the Garfield County Housing Authority (GCHA) manages the waiting list for the Counties of Eagle, Moffat, Pitkin, and Rio Blanco, CO for the Colorado Division of Housing. Nash and Edgecombe County, North Carolina
The Nash-Edgecombe Economic Development, Inc. (NEED) Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher waiting list is opening soon, from September 1, 2016 at 9:15 am ET, until 500 applications are submitted. Applications will be available online. Preferences have not yet been confirmed. It is not known how applicants will be placed on the waiting list. Butte County, California
The Housing Authority of the County of Butte (HACB) Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher waiting list is opening soon, from September 1, 2016 until September 16, 2016 at 12:00 am PT. Applications will be available online. There are three preferences. Applicants will be placed on the waiting list by random lottery. 1,200 applicants will be placed on the waiting list by random lottery, after sorting preferences. Durham, North Carolina
The Durham Housing Authority (DHA) Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher waiting list is opening soon, from September 6, 2016 at 8:30 am, until September 14, 2016 at 11:59 pm ET. Applications will be available online. Preferences have not yet been confirmed. Applicants will be placed on the waiting list by random lottery. Houston, Texas
According to an article by the Houston Chronicle, the Houston Housing Authority (HHA) Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher waiting list is opening soon, from September 19, 2016 at 8:00 am, until September 25, 2016 at 11:59 pm CT. We have contacted the HHA office for confirmation, and will update our content when more information becomes available. It is not known where applications will be available. Preferences have not yet been confirmed. 30,000 applicants will be placed on the waiting list by random lottery. Find more info on our HHA page here.
Iron and Leelanau County, Michigan
The Michigan State Housing Development Authority (MSHDA): Iron and Leelanau County Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher waiting lists are opening soon, from October 3, 2016 at 8:00 am, until December 22, 2016 at 5:00 pm ET. Applications will be available online. There are two preferences. Applicants will be placed on the waiting list by date and time of pre-application submission, after sorting preferences. Manistee County, Michigan
The Michigan State Housing Development Authority (MSHDA): Manistee County Section 8 HCV waiting list is opening soon, from October 10, 2016 at 8:00 am, until January 9, 2017 at 5:00 pm ET. Applications will be available online. There are two preferences. Applicants will be placed on the waiting list by date and time of pre-application submission, after sorting preferences.
