This week, we have added 17 new waiting lists to our open Section 8 waiting lists page. With 2 waiting lists closing since last week, we are now aware of 428 open Section 8 waiting lists, and 10 waiting lists that are opening soon. Here are the Section 8 waiting lists that are opening soon or currently open since last week:
Orlando, Florida: The Orlando Housing Authority (OHA) Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher waiting list is opening soon, from September 27, 2015 at 12:01 am, until October 3, 2015 at 11:59 pm ET. It is important to note that the OHA public notice states that the waiting list opens on, “September 27, 2015 at 12:01 after midnight.” This specific wording could cause some confusion, as it is not clear if the waiting list opens on September 27 at 12:01 am, or on September 28, 2015 at 12:01 am. We have contacted the OHA to clarify this, and will update our website when more information becomes available. We recommend applying as soon as possible. Pre-applications will be available online only. No preferences have been identified. It is not known how may qualified applicants will be placed on the waiting list. Prince George’s County, Maryland: The Housing Authority of Prince George’s County (HAPGC) Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher waiting list is opening soon, from October 5, 2015 at 12:01 am, until October 16, 2015 at 11:59 pm ET. Pre-applications will be available online only. Seven preference have been identified. The HAPGC will place 5,000 qualified applicants on the waiting list by random lottery. DeKalb County, Georgia: The Housing Authority of DeKalb County (HADC) Section 8 Project-Based Voucher waiting list is opening soon for elderly (62+) households, on September 29, 2015. Pre-applications are available online only. One preference has been identified. There is no known limit of how many qualified applicants will be placed on the waiting list. Salt Lake City, Utah: The Housing Authority of Salt Lake City (HASLC) Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher waiting list is currently open until October 1, 2015. Pre-applications are available online. No preferences have been identified. There is no known limit of how many qualified applicants will be placed on the waiting list by date and time of the pre-application submission.
