There are only a few weeks left before Election Day, and residents can still register to vote in 25 states. If your state’s deadline has not yet passed and you do not know how to register to vote, a U.S. government website has made that information easy to find.

Step 1: Visit Vote.gov

The home page of this official U.S. government website allows you to:

  • Find out how to register to vote in your state
  • Know your voter ID requirements
  • Learn about the presidential election process
  • Learn other information about voting and elections

Step 2: Select your state or territory in the drop down menu, and select “Find out how to register”

The next page that loads will give you the following information about voting in your state:

  • Direct links to state resources on how to register to vote in your state
  • The voter registration deadline(s) in your state
  • How to check your voter registration status in your state
  • The date of the 2020 Presidential Election.
