This week, we have added 4 new waiting lists to our open Section 8 waiting lists page. We are now aware of 478 open Section 8 waiting lists, and 8 waiting lists that are opening soon. Here are the new scheduled waiting lists that are opening soon:
Putnam County, Tennessee: The Tennessee Housing Development Agency (THDA) Putnam County, TN Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher waiting list is opening soon for one day only, on February 1, 2016 from 6:00 am, until 11:59 pm CT. This waiting list was scheduled to open for one day on January 18, 2016. However, there was a glitch that did not display the online pre-application. The opening has now been rescheduled to February 1, 2016. Pre-applications will be available online only. No preferences have been identified. It is not known how applicants will be placed on the waiting list. For more information, please visit our THDA information page.
Kenner, Louisiana: The Kenner Housing Authority (KHA) Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher waiting list is opening soon. Although this waiting list was scheduled to open for three days in January 2016, there were technical difficulties during the first day of the opening, and the KHA closed the waiting list until further notice. Jacksonville, Florida: The Jacksonville Housing Authority (JHA) Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher waiting list is opening soon for elderly (62+)/disabled households for one day only, on February 6, 2016, from 8:00 am until 5:00 pm ET. Pre-applications will be available at the JHA office. No preferences have been identified. It is not known how applicants will be placed on the waiting list. Jacksonville, Florida: The Jacksonville Housing Authority (JHA) Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher waiting list is opening soon for the general public for one day only, on February 18, 2016, from 8:00 am until 5:00 pm. Pre-applications will be available at the Jacksonville Fairgrounds. No preferences have been identified. It is not known how applicants will be placed on the waiting list. South Gate, California: The South Gate Housing Authority (SGHA) Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher waiting list is opening soon, from February 8, 2016 at 8:00 am, until February 11, 2016 at 5:00 pm PT. Pre-applications will be available online only. Two preferences have been identified. 2,500 applicants will be placed on the waiting list by random lottery, after sorting preferences. Dona Ana County, New Mexico: The Mesilla Valley Public Housing Authority (MVPHA) Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher waiting list is opening soon, from February 22, 2016 at 8:00 am, until February 25, 2016 at 3:00 pm MT. Pre-applications will be available at the MVPHA office. No preferences have been identified. Applicants will be placed on the waiting list by random lottery.
