This week, we have added 4 new waiting lists to our open Section 8 waiting lists page. With 4 waiting list closing since last week, we are now aware of 436 open Section 8 waiting lists, and 6 waiting lists that are opening soon. Here are the Section 8 waiting lists that are opening soon since last week:
Suffolk County, New York: The New York State Homes and Community Renewal (NYSHCR): Suffolk County Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher waiting list is opening soon, from November 9, 2015 until November 20, 2015. Pre-applications will be available online, and at several locations throughout Suffolk County. No preferences have been identified. NYSHCR will place 4,000 applicants on the waiting list by random lottery. For more information, please visit our NYSHCR information page.
State of Hawaii: The Hawaii Public Housing Authority (HPHA) Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher waiting list is opening soon, in November 2015. We obtained this information from a news article in the Honolulu Star Advertiser. Our team has not yet been able to locate a public notice about this opening, and no further information about this opening has been provided. Panama City, Florida: The Panama City Housing Authority (PCHA) Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher waiting list is opening soon, from October 26, 2015, until November 6, 2015. Pre-applications will be available at the PCHA office. No preferences have been identified. The PCHA will place an unspecified number of applicants on the waiting list by random lottery. Orange County, North Carolina: The Orange County Housing Authority (OCHA) Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher waiting list is opening soon, from October 30, 2015 at 8:00 am, until November 2, 2015 at 6:00 pm ET. Pre-applications will be available online, or at two locations on specific dates. No preferences have been identified. The OCHA will place an unspecified number of applicants on the waiting list.
