This week, we have added 10 new waiting lists to our open Section 8 waiting lists page. With 8 waiting lists closing since last week, we are now aware of 377 open Section 8 waiting lists, and 4 waiting lists that are opening soon. Here are the Section 8 waiting lists that are opening soon, now open, or closed since last week:
Babylon, New York: The Town of Babylon Housing Assistance Agency (TBHAA) Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher waiting list is opening soon, from August 14, 2015, until September 4, 2015. Pre-applications will be available by visiting several participating offices around Babylon, NY. No preferences have been identified. There is no known limit of the number of pre-applications that will be accepted. For more information, please visit our TBHAA information page.
Norwalk, California: The City of Norwalk Housing Authority (CNHA) Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher waiting list is opening soon, from September 21, 2015 at 8:00 am, until September 24, 2015 at 5:00 pm PDT. Pre-applications will be available at the Norwalk Arts and Sports Complex Rich Rehearsal Hall. Two preferences have been identified. Only 3,000 pre-applications will be distributed. The CNHA will place qualified applicants on the waiting list by date and time the pre-application was received, after sorting preferences. Allentown, Pennsylvania: The Allentown Housing Authority (AHA) Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher, Project-Based Voucher, and Public Housing waiting lists are currently open, from August 3, 2015 until August 31, 2015. Pre-applications are available online only. No preferences have been identified. There is no known limit of the number of pre-applications that will be accepted. Alameda County, California: The Housing Authority of the County of Alameda (HACA) Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher waiting list is currently open, from August 5, 2015 at 12:01 am, until August 11, 2015 at 11:59 pm PDT. Pre-applications are available online only in English, Chinese, Spanish and Vietnamese. No preferences have been identified. Cuyahoga County, Ohio: The Cuyahoga Metropolitan Housing Authority (CMHA) Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher waiting list is currently open, from August 3, 2015 at 12:01 am, until August 7, 2015 at 11:59 pm EDT. Pre-applications are available online only. No preferences have been identified. The CMHA will place 10,000 qualified applicants on the waiting list by random lottery. Dane County, Wisconsin: The Dane County Housing Authority (DCHA) Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher waiting list opened on August 4, 2015 at 10:00 am CDT, and closed only four and a half hours after opening. Pre-applications were available online only. No preferences were identified. More than 2,200 people applied, and qualified applicants will be placed on the waiting list by random lottery. Guilford County, North Carolina: The Greensboro Housing Authority (GHA) Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher waiting list opened on October 1, 2014, and closed on August 1, 2015. Milwaukee, Wisconsin: The Housing Authority of the City of Milwaukee (HACM) Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher waiting list opened on July 23 at 12:01 am and closed on July 31, 2015 at 12:00 am CDT. Pre-applications were available online only. No preferences were identified. 3,000 qualified applicants will be placed on the waiting list by random lottery.
