This week, we have added 4 new waiting lists to our open Section 8 waiting lists page. We are now aware of 500 open Section 8 waiting lists, and 7 waiting lists that are opening soon. Here are the new scheduled waiting lists that are currently open and opening soon:
Portage County, Ohio
The Portage Metropolitan Housing Authority (PMHA) Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher waiting list is currently open. This waiting list opened on September 7, 2016 at 9:00 am ET, and is open indefinitely. Applications are available online. Preferences have not yet been confirmed. It is not known how applicants will be placed on the waiting list. Read more on how to apply on our PMHA information page here.
Winooski, Vermont
The Winooski Housing Authority (WHA) Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher waiting list is currently open. This waiting list opened on September 14, 2016. No closing date has been confirmed. Applications are available online and in person. There are no preferences. It is not known how applicants will be placed on the waiting list. Cambridge, Massachusetts
The Cambridge Housing Authority (CHA) Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher and Project-Based Voucher waiting lists are opening soon, on October 3, 2016 at 10:00 am ET. The lottery period will close on October 31, 2016, but the waiting lists will remain open indefinitely. Applications will be available online. There are four preferences. Applicants who apply by October 31, 2016 will be placed on the waiting list by random lottery, after sorting preferences. Applicants who apply after October 31, 2016 will be placed on the waiting list by date and time the pre-application is received, after sorting preferences. Hillsdale County, Michigan
The Michigan State Housing Development Authority (MSHDA): Hillsdale County Section 8 HCV waiting list is opening soon, from October 10, 2016 at 8:00 am, until January 9, 2017 at 5:00 pm ET. Applications will be available online. There are two preferences. Applicants will be placed on the waiting list by date and time of pre-application submission, after sorting preferences.
