This week, we have added 9 new waiting lists to our open Section 8 waiting lists page. With 6 waiting lists closing since last week, we are now aware of 402 open Section 8 waiting lists, and 6 waiting lists that are opening soon. Here are the Section 8 waiting lists that are opening soon, now open, or closed since last week:
Myrtle Beach, South Carolina: The Housing Authority of Myrtle Beach (HAMB) Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher waiting list is opening soon to the general public, from September 14, 2015 at 9:00 am, until September 15, 2015 at 5:00 pm ET. The Veterans Affairs Supportive Housing (VASH) HCV waiting list is currently open. Pre-applications will be available online only. No preferences have been identified. The HAMB will place 1,000 qualified applicants on the waiting list by random lottery. For more information, please visit our HAMB information page.
Schenectady, New York: The Schenectady Municipal Housing Authority (SMHA) Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher waiting list is opening soon, from September 14, 2015 at 8:00 am, until September 25, 2015 at 4:00 pm ET. Pre-applications will be available at the SMHA office. One preference has been identified. There is no known limit of how many qualified applicants will be placed on the waiting list. Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania: The Housing Authority of the City of Pittsburgh (HACP) Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher waiting list is currently open, from September 2, 2015 at 8:00 am, until September 15, 2015 at 11:59 pm ET. Pre-applications are available online only. No preferences have been identified. There is no known limit of how many qualified applicants will be placed on the waiting list by random lottery. Multi-County, New Mexico: The Eastern Regional Housing Authority (ERHA) Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher waiting list is currently open, from August 31, 2015 at 9:00 am MT, until September 14, 2015. Pre-applications are available at the ERHA office, by mail and by fax. No preferences have been identified. Allentown, Pennsylvania: The Allentown Housing Authority (AHA) Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher and Project-Based Voucher waiting lists opened on August 3, 2015, and closed on August 31, 2015. Pre-applications were available online only. No preferences were identified. There is no known limit on how many applicants will be placed on the waiting list. Pasco County, Florida: The Pasco County Housing Authority (PCHA) Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher waiting list opened on August 17, 2015 at 7:30 am, and closed on August 27, 2015 at 4:30 pm ET. Pre-applications were available online only. No preferences were identified. The PCHA will place 1,000 qualified applicants on the waiting list by random lottery. Mutli-County, Mississippi: The Mississippi Regional Housing Authority VI (MRHA VI) Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher and Project-Based Voucher waiting lists opened on August 24, 2015 at 12:01 am, and closed on August 26, 2015 at 11:59 pm CT. Pre-applications were available online only. No preferences were identified. There is no set limit on how many qualified applicants will be placed on the waiting list.
