This week, we have added 10 new Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher waiting list openings to our open Section 8 waiting lists page. Here are the new scheduled waiting lists that are open now and opening soon:
Blount, Cannon, Jefferson, Overton, Pickett, and Union County, Tennessee
The Tennessee Housing Development Agency (THDA): Blount, Cannon, Jefferson, Overton, Pickett, and Union County Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher waiting lists are currently open for one day only, from March 1, 2017 at 6:00 am, until March 1, 2017 at 11:59 pm CT. Applications will be available online. There are four preferences. Generally, applicants are placed on the waiting list by date and time the application is received, after sorting preferences. If the THDA decides to sort a waiting list by random lottery, all applicants to that specific waiting list will be notified. Read more on how to apply on our THDA information page here.
Islip, New York
The Town of Islip Housing Authority (TIHA) Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher waiting list is currently open, from February 22, 2017, until March 24, 2017. Applications are available online, by phone, and by mail. Preferences have not yet been confirmed, and it is not known how applicants will be placed on the waiting list. State of New Jersey
The State of New Jersey Department of Community Affairs (DCA) New Jersey State Rental Assistance Program is opening soon, from March 6, 2017 at 10:00 am, until March 10, 2017 at 5:00 pm ET. This is a state-funded rental assistance program managed by the DCA that operates similarly to the HUD Housing Choice Voucher program. Applications will be available online. There are preferences, but they have not yet been confirmed. 1,240 family, 1,400 elderly, and 480 disabled households will be placed on the waiting list by random lottery, after sorting preferences. King County, Washington
The King County Housing Authority (KCHA) Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher waiting list is opening soon, from April 5, 2017 at 8:00 am, until April 18, 2017 at 4:00 pm PT. Preferences have not yet been confirmed. 3,500 applicants will be placed on the waiting list by random lottery. Read more on how to apply on our KCHA information page here.
St. Louis Park, Minnesota
The St. Louis Park Housing Authority (SLPHA) Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher waiting list is opening soon, from March 7, 2017 at 8:00 am, until March 9, 2017 at 4:00 pm CT. Applications will be available online. There are five preferences. 500 applicants will be placed on the waiting list by random lottery, after sorting preferences.
