With four waiting lists closing since last week, we are now aware of 372 open Section 8 waiting lists, and 7 waiting lists that are opening soon. Here are the Section 8 waiting lists that are opening soon, now open, or closed since last week:
Allentown, Pennsylvania: The Allentown Housing Authority (AHA) Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher, Public Housing and Project-Based Voucher waiting lists are opening soon, from August 3, 2015 until August 31, 2015. Pre-applications will be available online only. No preferences have been identified. For more information, please visit our AHA information page.
Orange, Texas: The Housing Authority of the City of Orange (HACO) Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher waiting list is opening soon, on August 3, 2015 at 8:00 am CDT. Pre-applications will be available online only. No preferences have been identified. Only the first 300 pre-applications will be accepted, and the HACO will place qualified applicants on the waiting list by order of the date and time of the pre-application submission. Alameda County, California: The Housing Authority of the County of Alameda (HACA) Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher waiting list is opening soon, from August 5, 2015 at 12:01 am, until August 11, 2015 at 11:59 pm PDT. Pre-applications will be available online only. No preferences have been identified. The HACA will place 5,000 qualified applicants on the waiting list by random lottery. Milwaukee, Wisconsin: The Housing Authority of the City of Milwaukee (HACM) Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher waiting list is currently open, from July 23, 2015 at 12:01 am, until July 31, 2015 at 12:00 am CDT. Pre-applications are available online only. No preferences have been identified. The HACM will place 3,000 qualified applicants on the waiting list by random lottery. Guilford County, North Carolina: The Greensboro Housing Authority (GHA) Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher waiting list is currently open until August 1, 2015. Pre-applications are available online only. No preferences have been identified. There is no set number of how many qualified applicants that will be placed on the waiting list. Collier County, Florida: The Collier County Housing Authority (CCHA) Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher waiting list is currently open, from July 1, 2015 at 8:30 am, until July 30, 2015 at 11:30 am EST. Pre-applications are available at two offices. No preferences have been identified. There is no set number of how many applicants that will be placed on the waiting list. Gastonia, North Carolina: The Gastonia Housing Authority (GHA) Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher waiting list was originally opened on July 13, 2015, and closed on July 23, 2015 at 4:00 pm EDT. However, the GHA since extended the opening until August 6, 2015 at 5:00 pm EDT. Pre-applications are available online and at the GHA office. No preferences were noted. Omaha, Nebraska: The Omaha Housing Authority (OHA) Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher waiting list opened on July 27 at 8:00 am CDT and closed later that day. Pre-applications were available by calling the OHA office and scheduling an appointment. No preferences were identified. The waiting list closed after the first 750 appointments were scheduled, and qualified applicants were placed on the waiting list by date and time the application was received.
