Housing Wait List Recap: March 16, 2020 – Coronavirus Update

Each week, Affordable Housing Online highlights Section 8, Public Housing, and other affordable housing waiting lists that are open and have been recently announced for the current week. However, due to concerns of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) disease, some waiting list openings may be postponed until further notice.

Postponements have already occurred, such as the Wallingford Housing Authority in Connecticut, postponing the online application submission period for its Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher waiting list. More waiting lists may be postponed in the coming weeks.

The Affordable Housing Online team is closely monitoring waiting lists that are open now or opening soon, and will make updates to our website accordingly. As of March 16, 2020, many waiting lists that are currently open have remained open, but those may be postponed as well, or submission instructions may be adjusted. Contact the housing authority or visit its website for details.

Waiting list openings that have previously been announced can be found on our Section 8 Waitlists page here, and our Public Housing Waitlists page here.

We encourage everyone to follow the recommendations of the Centers of Disease Control published at https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/faq.html.
