Every week, Affordable Housing Online announces the latest Section 8 waiting list openings for renters in search of low-income housing assistance in the U.S.
Many of the waiting lists listed on AHO have different requirements on how to apply. And sometimes, it can be hard to find all the important details about qualifying. AHO gathers all of this information to save renters time in their housing search.

Note: Applicants do not need to live in the area to apply to most waiting lists. Once a waiting list closes, it may stay closed for many years.
New Waiting List Announcements
Multi-County, NV Waiting List
The Nevada Rural Housing Authority (NRHA) Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher waiting list applications will be accepted from December 9, 2022, until further notice.
Pueblo, CO Waiting List
The Housing Authority of the City of Pueblo (HACP) Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher waiting list applications will be accepted from December 1, 2022, until December 9, 2022.
Territory of Guam Waiting List
The Guam Housing and Urban Renewal Authority (GHURA) Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher waiting list applications will be accepted from December 5, 2022 at 8:00 am, until December 12, 2022 at 11:59 am ChST.

Auburn and LaFayette, AL Waiting List
The Lafayette Housing Authority (LHA) Section 8 Project Based Voucher waiting list applications for 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5-Bedroom are being accepted from November 28, 2022, until further notice.
Portland and Gresham, OR Waiting Lists
Home Forward will accept applications for 34 affordable housing properties from November 30, 2022 at 9:00 am PT, until December 14, 2022.

Riverside County, CA Waiting List
The Housing Authority of the County of Riverside (HACR) is accepting Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher waiting list applications from July 1, 2015 until December 31, 2022.
Spartanburg County, SC Waiting List
The Spartanburg Housing Authority (SHA) will accept Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher waiting list applications from November 14, 2022 at 9:00 am, until December 14, 2022 at 4:00 pm ET.
