To help renters save time on their search for low-income housing, all of the information needed to apply to these and other waiting lists in the U.S. can be found in the links below.
Tip: Applicants do not need to live in the area to apply to most waiting lists.
New Section 8 Announcements
City of Cleveland and Cuyahoga County, Ohio Mainstream Waiting List Opens Soon
The Emerald Development And Economic Network (EDEN) will accept Mainstream Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher waiting list applications from November 13, 2023 at 12:01 am, until November 15, 2023 at 11:59 pm ET. This is the first time the waiting list will be open since December, 2019.
Please note: According to EDEN, “At least one adult household member must be between the ages of 18 and 61 and have a documented disability. In addition, at least one family member must be a citizen, national, or noncitizen with eligible immigration status in order for the family to qualify for any level of assistance.”
Rockland County, New York Section 8 Waiting List Opens Tomorrow
The Emerald Development And Economic Network (EDEN) will accept Mainstream Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher waiting list applications from November 13, 2023 at 12:01 am, until November 15, 2023 at 11:59 pm ET. This is the first time the waiting list will be open since December, 2019.

City of San Antonio, and Bexar County, Texas Section 8 Waiting List Opens For Two Weeks
Opportunity Home San Antonio (OHSA) will accept Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher waiting list applications from November 1, until November 15, 2023. This is the first time the waiting list will be open since July, 2022.
Lake County, Ohio Section 8 Waiting List Opens Soon
The Lake Metropolitan Housing Authority (LMHA) will accept Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher waiting list applications from November 14, until November 20, 2023. This is the first time the waiting list will be open since June, 2021.
Wayne, Holmes, and Ashland County, Ohio Section 8 Waiting List Opens For Three Months
The Wayne Metropolitan Housing Authority (WMHA) will accept Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher waiting list applications from November 1, 2023, until January 31, 2024. This is the first time the waiting list will be open since March, 2023.
City and County of San Francisco, California Section 8 Waiting List Closes Today
The San Francisco Housing Authority (SFHA) will accept Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher waiting list applications from October 23, until November 6, 2023.
Lycoming County, Pennsylvania Section 8 Waiting List Opens For A Limited Time
The Lycoming Housing Authority (LHA) will accept Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher waiting list applications from November 1, until November 17, 2023, or until 800 applications have been received.
Okanogan County, Washington Waitlist Opens For Three Months
The Housing Authority of Okanogan County will accept Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher waiting list applications from September 18, until December 18, 2023.
