To help renters save time on their search for low-income housing, all of the information needed to apply to these and other waiting lists in the U.S. are located below.
Tip: Applicants do not need to live in the area to apply to most waiting lists.
New Section 8 Announcements
City of San Antonio, and Bexar County, Texas Section 8 Waiting List Opens Wednesday
Opportunity Home San Antonio (OHSA) will accept Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher waiting list applications from November 1, until November 15, 2023. This is the first time the waiting list will be open since July, 2022.
Lake County, Ohio Section 8 Waiting List Opens Soon
The Lake Metropolitan Housing Authority (LMHA) will accept Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher waiting list applications from November 14, until November 20, 2023. This is the first time the waiting list will be open since June, 2021.

These openings are for other low-income housing programs — They are not for Section 8 Housing Choice Vouchers.
Charleston, South Carolina Project-Based Voucher Waiting Lists Open Soon
The Redding Housing Authority (RHA) will accept waiting list applications for Section 8 Project-Based Voucher apartments from November 15, 2023, until further notice.

Wayne, Holmes, and Ashland County, Ohio Section 8 Waiting List Opens Wednesday
The Wayne Metropolitan Housing Authority (WMHA) will accept Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher waiting list applications from November 1, 2023, until January 31, 2024. This is the first time the waiting list will be open since March, 2023.
City and County of San Francisco, California Section 8 Waiting List Opens
The San Francisco Housing Authority (SFHA) will accept Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher waiting list applications from October 23, until November 6, 2023.
Multi-County, Michigan Section 8 Waiting List Closes Tuesday
The Michigan State Housing Development Authority (MSHDA) will accept Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher waiting list applications for 37 counties from October 17, until October 31, 2023. This is the first time the waiting list will be open since April, 2023.
Gregg, Panola, and Rusk County, Texas Section 8 Waiting List Closes Tuesday
The Tatum Housing and Beckville Housing Authorities (THBHA) is accepting Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher waiting list applications from October 2, until October 31, 2023.
Lycoming County, Pennsylvania Section 8 Waiting List Opens Wednesday
The Lycoming Housing Authority (LHA) will accept Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher waiting list applications from November 1, until November 17, 2023, or until 800 applications have been received.
Boulder County, Colorado Section 8 Waiting List Opens
Boulder Housing Partners (BHP) will accept Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher waiting list applications from October 30, until November 3, 2023.
Okanogan County, Washington Waitlist Opens For Three Months
The Housing Authority of Okanogan County will accept Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher waiting list applications from September 18, until December 18, 2023.
Sonoma County, California Section 8 Waitlist Closes Tuesday
The Sonoma County Housing Authority will accept Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher waiting list applications from October 1, until October 31, 2023.
