Every week, Affordable Housing Online announces the latest Section 8 waiting list openings for renters in search of low-income housing assistance in the U.S.
AHO makes it easier for renters to apply for affordable housing.
Waiting lists have different requirements on how to apply, and how applications are ordered. AHO has the most up to date details on this information for hundreds of open waiting lists nationwide.

Note: Applicants do not need to live in the area to apply to most waiting lists. Once a waiting list closes, it may stay closed for many years.
New Waiting List Announcements
Albuquerque, NM Waiting List
The Albuquerque Housing Authority (AHA) will accept Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher waiting list applications from September 1, 2022, until September 30, 2022.
Hawaii County, HI Waiting List
The County of Hawaii Office of Housing and Community Development (OHCD) will accept Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher waiting list applications from September 19, 2022 at 9:00 am, until October 6, 2022 at 4:00 pm HT.

Pittsburgh, PA Waiting List
The Housing Authority of the City of Pittsburgh (HACP) will accept Section 8 Project-Based Voucher waiting list applications for apartments at Multiple Properties from September 12, 2022, until September 22, 2022.

Charleston, SC Waiting List
The Housing Authority of the City of Charleston (HACC) will accept Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher waiting list applications one day only on September 28, 2022 from 12:00 pm until 1:00 pm ET.
Bernalillo County, NM Waiting List
The Bernalillo County Housing Department (BCHD) Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher waiting list applications for Bernalillo County will be accepted from August 16, 2022 at 8:00 am, until September 16, 2022 at 5:00 pm MT.
Palm Beach County, FL Waiting List
The Palm Beach County Housing Authority will accept Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher waiting list applications from June 6, 2022 at 9:00 am ET, until further notice.
