New Waiting List Announcements
New Hanover County, NC Section 8 HCV Waiting List
The Wilmington Housing Authority (WHA) will accept Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher waiting list applications from March 1, 2022 at 8:00 am, until March 2, 2022 at 4:00 pm ET.
Enfield, CT Mainstream Section 8 HCV Waiting List
The Enfield Housing Authority (EHA) will accept Mainstream Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher applications from February 28, 2022 until March 3, 2022.

Pittsylvania County, and Danville City, VA Section 8 HCV Waiting List
The Danville Redevelopment and Housing Authority (DRHA) Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher waiting list applications for Pittsylvania County, and Danville City will be accepted from March 1, 2022, until March 31, 2022.
Orange, TX Section 8 HCV Waiting List
The Housing Authority of the City of Orange (HACO) Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher waiting list applications will be accepted from April 1, 2022 at 9:00 am CT, until 500 applications have been received.
Multi-County, MI Housing Choice Voucher Waiting List
The Michigan State Housing Development Authority (MSHDA) will accept Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher waiting list applications for Alger, Baraga, Chippewa, Delta, Dickinson, Gogebic, Houghton, Iron, Keweenaw, Luce, Mackinac, Marquette, Menominee, Ontonagon and Schoolcraft County from February 8, 2022 at 9:00 am, until March 9, 2022 at 1:00 pm ET.
Multi-County, MI Section 8 HCV Waiting List
The Michigan State Housing Development Authority (MSHDA) will accept Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher waiting list applications for Alcona, Alpena, Antrim, Benzie, Charlevoix, Cheboygan, Crawford, Iosco, Kalkaska, Leelanau, Manistee, Montmorency, Ogemaw, Oscoda, Otsego, Emmet, Presque Isle and Roscommon County from February 23, 2022 at 9:00 am, until March 25, 2022 at 3:00 pm ET.
Monroe County, MI Section 8 HCV Waiting List
The Michigan State Housing Development Authority (MSHDA) will accept Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher waiting list applications for Monroe County from March 1, 2022 at 9:00 am, until March 3, 2022 at 3:00 pm ET.
Jackson and Livingston County, MI Section 8 HCV Waiting List
The Michigan State Housing Development Authority (MSHDA) will accept Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher waiting list applications for Jackson and Livingston County from March 1, 2022 at 9:00 am, until March 3, 2022 at 3:00 pm ET.
Multi-County, MI Section 8 HCV Waiting List
The Michigan State Housing Development Authority (MSHDA) will accept Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher waiting list applications for Arenac, Barry, Branch, Calhoun, Cass, Clare, Clinton, Gladwin, Gratiot, Hillsdale, Ionia, Isabella, Lake, Mason, Mecosta, Midland, Newaygo, Oceana, Osceola, Ottawa, Sanilac, Shiawassee, St Clair, St Joseph, and Van Buren County from March 1, 2022 at 9:00 am, until March 31, 2022 at 3:00 pm ET.
Kalamazoo County, MI Section 8 HCV Waiting List
The Michigan State Housing Development Authority (MSHDA) will accept Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher waiting list applications for Kalamazoo County from March 8, 2022 at 9:00 am, until March 10, 2022 at 3:00 pm ET.
Washtenaw County, MI Section 8 HCV Waiting List
The Michigan State Housing Development Authority (MSHDA) will accept Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher waiting list applications for Washtenaw County from March 15, 2022 at 9:00 am, until March 17, 2022 at 3:00 pm ET.
Lee and Harnett County, NC Section 8 HCV Waiting List
The Sanford Housing Authority (SHA) will accept Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher waiting list applications from January 4, 2022, until March 4, 2022.
Multi-County, TX Section 8 HCV Waiting List
The Central Texas Council of Governments (CTCOG) will accept Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher waiting list applications from January 31, 2022 at 8:00 am CT, until further notice.
Kern County, CA Section 8 HCV Waiting List
The Housing Authority of the County of Kern (HACK) will accept Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher waiting list applications from January 28, 2022 at 10:00 am, until February 28, 2022 at 5:00 pm PT.
Milwaukee, WI Section 8 HCV, PBV, and Public Housing Waiting Lists
The Housing Authority of the City of Milwaukee (HACM) will accept Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher, Section 8 Project-Based Voucher, and Public Housing waiting list applications from December 15, 2021 at 9:00 am CT, until further notice.
More Housing Opportunities
If there are no Section 8 HCV openings in your area, there are more waiting lists that are open now or opening soon in other areas. You can apply to open waiting lists in different areas of the country.
There are also many other opportunities available for low-income housing. Apartment properties operated by housing authorities and private management companies have income-based or affordable monthly rent rates. If there are no open waiting lists in your area, there may be open waiting lists in nearby cities and counties.
Applying for affordable housing can be difficult at times. It is important to be familiar with the requirements and qualifications before applying. Knowing these policies helps make these programs easier to understand.
