For today, Affordable Housing Online has two waiting list updates for Section 8 Housing Choice Vouchers! Today's alert is for low-income rental housing in the East and Midwest.

These waiting lists were just discovered by our housing experts, and are either open now or will open soon. Make sure you get everything you need to know to apply during the opening period.
Greater Choanoke Area, North Carolina Section 8 Voucher Waiting List
First, the Choanoke Area Development Association of NC Inc. (CADA) is set to accept Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher waiting list applications for Bertie and Hertford County from July 8, 2024, until they receive 400 applications.
This marks the first time the waiting list has been opened since its closure in July 2023.
Specific preferences for the waiting list are yet to be confirmed, and details about the selection process are not available. Interested applicants can apply online during the open period.

Plymouth, Minnesota Section 8 Voucher Waiting List
There's one other opening announcement by the Plymouth Housing and Redevelopment Authority (PHRA). PHRA will open its Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher waiting list from July 9, 2024, at 9:00 am until July 11, 2024, at 4:30 pm CT.
The income qualifications for this program vary by household size, with a maximum income limit ranging from $43,500 for a single person to $77,050 for a seven-person household.
This waiting list has preferences for those who are involuntarily displaced, homeless, rent burdened, residing or working in Hennepin County, or households where the head is unable to work due to disability.
A total of 500 applicants will be selected for the waiting list through a random lottery, prioritized by these preferences. Applications can be submitted online during the specified period.

These waiting lists open today after being closed for application submissions for a period of time. Most of these openings are only for a limited time, so don't delay if an opportunity is right for you.
