Starting the week off, Affordable Housing Online has eight waiting list updates for Section 8 and Project-Based Vouchers, and also Public Housing! Our alert today is for low-income rental assistance on opposite coasts.

These waiting lists open today after being closed for application submissions for a period of time. Most of these openings are only for a limited time, so don't delay if an opportunity is right for you.
Greater Richmond Area, Virginia Affordable Housing Waiting Lists
The Richmond Redevelopment and Housing Authority (RRHA) will be opening several waiting lists for various housing programs. Preferences for these programs are yet to be confirmed, and all applications must be completed online.
Starting from June 24, 2024, at 8:30 am until June 28, 2024, at 5:00 pm ET, RRHA will accept applications for the Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher program. This marks the first time the waiting list has been open since October 2020.
This waiting list is for Section 8 HCV rental housing assistance in City of Richmond, and also Chesterfield, Hanover, and Henrico County, Virginia.

Additionally, during the same period, RRHA will accept applications for Public Housing. The maximum income limits for applicants vary by household size, ranging from $50,050 for a single person to $94,400 for an eight-person household.
These Public Housing apartments are located in Richmond, Virginia, and do not extend to the greater area around the city.

RRHA will also open the Senior Section 8 Project-Based Voucher waitlist for Watermark Gardens, Blackwell Senior Cottages, and Winchester Forest Apartments from June 24, 2024, at 8:30 am until June 26, 2024, at 5:00 pm ET.
The apartments for this waiting list are located in Richmond and North Chesterfield, Virginia.

Grays Harbor County, Washington Section 8 Voucher Waiting Lists
Meanwhile, the Housing Authority of Grays Harbor County (HAGHC) will begin accepting applications for two Section 8 Voucher programs. Applications for both programs must be completed online.
The HAGHC will accept Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher applications from June 24, 2024, at 8:00 am until July 19, 2024, at 4:30 pm PT. Applicants must meet specific income qualifications available on the HAGHC website. In addition, there is a preference for applicants who live or work in Grays Harbor.

Also, HAGHC will also open the Section 8 Rental Assistance Demonstration (RAD) Project-Based Voucher waiting list for 2 and 3-bedroom apartments during the same period. This waiting list also has a preference for applicants who live or work in Grays Harbor.

Wilson County, North Carolina Public Housing Waiting List
Additionally, the Wilson Housing Authority (WHA) is accepting Public Housing waiting list applications for Whitfield Homes, Forrest Road Homes, and EB Jordan Homes Apartments from June 24, 2024, until June 25, 2024.
There are multiple preferences for this program, including veterans, homeless individuals, working families, and victims of domestic violence. Applications can be obtained online, or picked up at specified WHA locations.

Huntsville, Alabama Public Housing Waiting List
The last opening update of the day is by the Huntsville Housing Authority (HHA). The HHA will open the Senior and Disabled Section 8 Project-Based Voucher waiting list for Monrovia Flats from June 24, 2024, at 8:00 am until June 25, 2024, at 5:00 pm CT.
Applicants must complete the online application within this period. Preferences for this program have not yet been confirmed.

Ormond Beach, Florida Public Housing Waiting List
The Ormond Beach Housing Authority (OBHA) will be accepting Public Housing waiting list applications for 2, 3, and 4-bedroom apartments starting on July 9, 2024, at 12:00 am ET. But the waiting list won't be open for long – it will close after receiving 25 applications.
Applicants must meet specific income qualifications available on the OBHA Home page. There are no preferences for this waiting list, and applicants will be placed on the list based on the date and time their application is received. To apply, individuals need to complete the online application while the waitlist is open.
