Please note: The Yuma Housing Authority administers Section 8 Housing Choice Vouchers through the Colorado Division of Housing.

The Yuma Housing Authority (YHA) Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher waiting list is currently closed. There is no notice of when this waiting list will reopen.


Please note: This waiting list has preferences. This means that applicants who qualify for these preferences will receive assistance before applicants who do not. Because of these preferences, applicants who do not qualify may have a longer wait to receive assistance.



There were two ways to apply during the opening period:

  1. Visit the HATY in person to pick up an application.
  2. Request an application be mailed to you by calling the HATY.

The HTY identified the following preferences: Elderly, disabled, victim of domestic violence, or homeless.


The current wait time for a voucher is approximately one year.


Important note: Applicants who have been placed on the waiting list must inform the housing authority immediately if your application information changes (such as contact information, income, and household members). In the case that the office sends a notice that does not get returned, or if application information is out of date, your name may be terminated from the waiting list. Contact the housing authority to find out how to update application information.

The Yuma Housing Authority (YHA) is currently accepting public housing waiting list applications for senior/disabled households.Please note: The YHA does not offer a public housing program for families.The YHA offers one public housing community with 50 units dedicated to senior/disabled individuals.There are two ways to apply:1. Visit the YHA to pick up an application, located at 700 W 3rd Ave, Yuma, CO 80759 during normal office hours.2. Request an application be mailed to you by calling (970) 848-5590 during normal office hours.Once the application has been completed, it can be mailed or hand delivered to the address listed above.
