Closed: State Moderate Rental Program Other Project Based Waiting List

The Seymour Housing Authority (SHA) State Moderate Rental Program waiting list is currently closed. It was last open from July until September, 2019. There is no notice of when this waiting list will reopen.

Please note: The SHA State Moderate Rental Program offers 2 and 3-Bedroom units at Brothers Court, Chamberlin Road, and Seymour Avenue. 

There were three ways to apply during the opening period:

  1. Download and print the application online.
  2. Call to request an application by mail.
  3. Pick up an application at the SHA Office.

Once the application was completed, it must have been postmarked by September 30, 2019; and mailed to the Seymour Housing Authority.

There were no preferences.

Selected applicants were placed on the waiting list by random lottery.

The random lottery will be held on November 5, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. in the Main Lobby of The Seymour Housing Authority, located at the address above.

The Seymour Housing Authority (SHA) Elderly Public Housing waiting list is currently open, since at least June, 2019, until further notice. Waiting lists for a specific community or bedroom size may be closed.

Please note:

  • The SHA Elderly Public Housing program offers 0 and 1-Bedroom units at Callahan House, and Norman Ray House.
  • The SHA does not offer a Family Public Housing program.

Open Until Further Notice: Assisted Living Other Senior Waiting List

The Seymour Housing Authority (SHA) Assisted Living waiting list is currently open, since at least June, 2019, until further notice. Waiting lists for a specific community or bedroom size may be closed.

Please note:

  • The SHA Assisted Living program offers 1-Bedroom units at Smithfield Gardens Assisted Living.
  • According to the SHA, "To qualify for the assisted living community, you must be at least age 65 and require assistance with at least one activity of daily living (i.e. medication management, showering, meal preparation)."
  • Smithfield Gardens Assisted Living is mix-financed by the State of CT Assisted Living Demonstration PILOT program and the Low-Income Housing Tax Credit program.
