How To Apply to the Housing Choice Voucher Waiting List

The Community Action Program, Inc. of Western Indiana (CAPWI) Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher waiting list is currently closed. It was last open in May, 2019. There is no notice of when this waiting list will reopen.

There were five ways to apply during the opening period:

  1. Download and print the application online. 
  2. Pick up an application at the CAPWI central office.
  3. Pick up an application at the Clinton outreach office.
  4. Pick up an application at the Oxford outreach office.
  5. Call to request an application by mail.

Once the paper application has been completed, it must have been either:

  1. Mailed to the CAPWI central office.
  2. Dropped off at the CAPWI central office.
  3. Dropped off at the Clinton outreach office.
  4. Dropped off at the Oxford outreach office.

This waiting list had the following preferences: Elderly, Disabled, Homeless, a Victim of Domestic Violence, and/or a Resident of Indiana.

Selected applicants were placed on the waiting list by date and time the application was received, by order of preferences.
