How To Apply to the Housing Choice Voucher Waiting List
The Northwest Indiana Community Action (NWICA) Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher waiting list is currently closed. Lake, LaPorte, and Porter County were each last open for one day in May 2017. There is no notice of when any waiting list will reopen.
To apply during the opening period, applicants were required to call the NWICA office to request an application.
This waiting list had the following preferences: Resident, homeless, working family (employed 35+ hours per week or full-time student), elderly, non-elderly disabled, disabled family member.
Applicants were placed on the waiting list by date and time the application was received, by order of preferences.
