This waiting list is for Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher rental housing assistance in City of Caribou, Maine.

The Caribou Housing Authority (CHA) is accepting Section 8 Housing CHoice Voucher waiting list applications from the earliest confirmed open date of January 26, 2024, until further notice.

There are three ways to apply while the waitlist is open:

  1. Complete the online application.
  2. Complete an application in person at the CHA office, located at 25 High St, Caribou, ME 04736.
  3. Call the CHA at 207-493-4234 to request an application be mailed to you.

This waiting list has the following preferences:

  • Live or work in the City of Caribou.
  • Terminated from the HCV program due to insufficient funding.
  • Displaced by a natural disaster.
  • Displaced by Government action.
  • Victims of Domestic Violence.
  • Veterans
  • Disabled
  • FYI recipients who have successfully completed the FYI program and can demonstrate an ongoing need for assistance.

Selected applicants will be placed on the waiting list by date and time the application is received, by order of preferences.
