How To Apply to the Public Housing Waiting List

The Big Stone County Housing and Redevelopment Authority (BSCHRA) is currently accepting Public Housing waiting list pre-applications for families and senior/disabled households.

The BSCHRA offers one Public Housing community with 57 units for families and senior/disabled households, ranging in size from 1 to 4 bedrooms.

There are two ways to apply:

  1. Visit the BSCHRA to pick up a pre-application, located at 301 1st St NW, Ortonville, MN 56278, from 8:30 am until 4:30 pm CT, Monday-Friday.
  2. Request to have a pre-application mailed to you by calling (320) 839-3304 from 8:30 am until 4:30 pm, Monday-Friday.
Once the pre-application has been completed, it can be mailed or hand delivered to the address listed above.

Be sure to include these documents with the pre-application: Social Security Cards, proof of all income, birth certificates, and photo IDs for all adult household members.
